“A play for anyone who has NEVER been destined to save the world.”
It’s a play for the outcasts, the underdogs or as creators like to put it “a play for anyone who has NEVER been destined to save the world”.
And it’s coming to Sydney!
The sell-out Off-Broadway sensation called PUFFS or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic will arrive in Sydney this May where it’s expected to be as big a hit as it was in Melbourne last year.
A hilarious yet highly emotional production, PUFFS tells the tale of wizarding students who weren’t necessarily born to defeat the force of darkness in the face of insurmountable odds, but they DID happen to sit in class next to those who were.
They may not be the boy sporting the world’s most memorable scar, but they did go to school with him.
Critics enjoyed the “comedic feast” so-much-so that they’ve described it as a “triumph for the anti-hero” (Herald Sun) and “an absolute hoot of a shot” (Broadway World Australia).
There was even one reviewer who declared that it’d “cast a spell on anyone” (Time Out Melbourne).
PUFFS premieres at the Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park on 23 May 2019 and will run until 30 June 2019.
To all the parents, PUFFS matinees run on Saturday at 2.00pm and Sunday at 1.00pm and are lightly transfigured to accommodate younger viewers aged eight and over.
