They’re four vastly different characters, attracting different types of viewers, but if you had to put them side-by-side, which of the Netflix Marvel shows would you think received the most attention upon release?

Was it the reluctant heroine, Jessica Jones or the ‘centered’ Danny Lang? Perhaps it was the masked ‘Daredevil of Hell’s Kitchen’, Matt Murdock or could it have been the unbreakable Luke Cage?

Think about it.

Think about it some more.

Take a guess.

Okay the answer is…

Social media analysts over at Fizziology measured Twitter activity during the first week of release for various Netflix original shows to determine which created the most buzz over in the United States.

And of the four of The Defenders programs – Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage – it was Power Man aka Luke Cage that gained the most attention with over one million tweets, including GDU’s very own…

Although personally I think Jessica Jones may have the feistiest and best presence on social media out of the four, it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise to see Luke Cage take the title of most popular on social media upon release.

The character already had a strong following thanks to his introduction in Jessica Jones and the social media team behind Luke Cage‘s Twitter page managed to get the hashtag, #SweetChristmas, trending hours before the show’s release.

Meanwhile, of all the Netflix original shows, the most popular on Twitter during release-week was 13 Reasons Why followed by Chasing Cameron, Fuller House, Luke Cage and then Stranger Things.

Which of The Defenders shows was your favourite?
