So in case you’ve missed it, Doctor Strange is coming out on DVD (1 March for us Aussies) and Marvel is going all out with the promos.

The marketing team released that adorable ‘what if the Avengers were dogs‘ clip at the Superbowl, which caught international attention…

There was that trippy ‘welcome to the multiverse‘ video where Benedict Cumberbatch talked about the possibility of various realities running simultaneously…

And the Marvel team even recently recruited Chris Hemsworth to bring out the ‘guns’ as Thor for a short ‘where are they now mockumentary‘ with his reluctant housemate…

Now, they’ve given a few media outlets access to some of the DVD’s extras such as the director’s commentary, in which Scott Derrickson confirms there was a nod to Ant-Man in the latest MCU release.

For those with a rusty memory, in 2015’s Ant-Man, Scott Lang ends up in another dimension called the ‘Quantum Realm’ after adjusting his suit and shrinking down ‘between the atoms’.

It’s a place which appears to have no gravity and no time. It’s also where Hank Pym believes his wife aka The Wasp has been stranded for the last 28 years.

Well, Marvel fans with a good eye may have spotted the same ‘Quantum Realm’ in Doctor Strange when The Ancient One sent the stubborn Doctor on that hallucinative journey through the various dimensions, ComicBook.com reported.

Derrickson said the reference was placed in the movie internationally as a means of “acknowledging that as one of the mysterious realms of existence”.

Totally missed it in the movie.

It’ll be interesting to see how that connection between Strange and Lang plays out in Avengers: Infinity War or even the second Ant-Man movie.

I completely missed it, did you spot the Ant-Man reference?
