“In the near future, a weary Logan…”
20th Century Fox and Hugh Jackman took to social media to share an official synopsis of the flick, a month-and-a-half before the actor files down his claws and puts the character to bed.
According to the teaser, the film will be set in the “near future”, which totally explains why Professor X and Wolverine look like they’ve seen better days.
It continues to say that the two are hiding out along the Mexican border until they come across a young mutant “being pursued by dark forces” aka that little girl Logan is seen protecting in the trailer.
The full synopsis reads:
In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.
It’s not much, but it’s enough to hype up a few Wolverine fans.
Joining Hugh Jackman in Logan are Sir Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Dafne Keen.
Unfortunately, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool didn’t make the movie because according to Reynolds, the character doesn’t fit with the tone of the movie.
However, the actor has shared an enthusiasm for the clawed X-Men and hopes for a “Deadpool/Wolvie film” in the future.
Logan is scheduled for release on 3 March 2017.
