If you’re going to play a comic hero then you should probably know a bit about the character.
Which is why Brie Larson is hitting the books – the best kind of books, comics books – to learn all about Captain Marvel.
The actress, who was officially revealed as Carol Danvers at San Diego Comic-Con last month, treated Twitter followers with a picture of herself reading up on the female hero.
In the picture, she’s seen relaxing on a couch while wearing the colours of the character’s suit and flipping through a copy of Captain Marvel, Vol. 1: Higher, Further, Faster, More by Kelly Sue DeConnick and David Lopez.
She captioned the picture with “LARSON INDUSTRIES R&D DEPT.”, referring to “research and development”. She also tagged in her partner and musician, Alex Greenwald, who took the picture.
Captain Marvel will be the first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to centre around a female hero when it’s released in March 2019.
