Aside from introducing Larson as the superhero, Marvel didn’t offer up any more details about the character or her solo movie.

The actress took to Twitter to celebrate the announcement by posting a picture of herself with a Marvel Studios hat and the caption: “Call me Captain Marvel”.

The first Captain Marvel movie was originally scheduled to be released in July 2018 but was pushed back to March 2019 to make way for the Ant-Man sequel.
