“Well done, you killed him instead.”

Ummm what the f#ck happened to Barry on the latest episode of The Flash?

If you’re not caught up we highly suggest reading another story on GDU, there are major spoilers ahead.

Zoom is back on Earth 1 and he’s causing havoc, killing police officers, demanding everyone submit to him and recruiting metahumans to do his bidding.

With Barry ‘running around’ powerless, there’s no one left to protect the city.

So Harry has a brilliant idea to recreate the Particle Accelerator explosion and all the events that happened to Barry the night he received his speed. In other words he wants to make him The Flash again.

Harry injected Barry with fingerprint chemicals (because he was playing around with them on the night he turned) and Cisco used his Vibe powers (and a wand, not the Harry Potter one) to electrocute the former speedster.

Everything looked like it was working (it looked like it was working because Harry made it sound like it was) until the blast started tearing through Barry’s skin, dissolving him into… nothing.

So, did he die?

No! A popular theory is that Barry is actually stuck in the speed force with several other speedsters.

Maybe it’ll take two new speedsters (*coughs* Wally and Jesse) to bring him back. We’ll find out soon enough.

On another note, let’s talk about how Henry (Barry’s dad) is related to Zoom.

In the episode he noted that his mother’s maiden name was Garrick – the same surname used by the villain.

Some fans are suggesting that perhaps Henry is actually The Flash on Earth 2 and maybe even the one in the iron mask trapped in Zoom’s lair. This theory is amazing because it would mean that we get to see John Wesley Shipp step back into the speedster role, 25 years after taking off the suit in his own 90s The Flash series.

So, what do you think happened to Barry? And do you think Henry may be the man behind the iron mask?
