If this doesn’t get you motivated to run, nothing will.
What better way to celebrate the DVD release of Creed, a movie starring Sylvester Stallon, than with some hilarious marketing centered around sports and an iconic motivational song.
The funny stunt held last week in Sydney saw a local band position themselves at the top of the city’s infamous McElhone Stairs, to treat morning runners and walkers to some Rocky-style motivation.
The theme-song to the popular Rocky movies blared through a saxophone, trumpet and a French horn, as climbers pushed their way to the top of the stairs.
Captured on video, the promotional performance managed to deliver a few laughs while also pushing early risers towards their goal.
Creed is out on DVD and Blu-ray in Australia and stars Michael B. Jordan (who played Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four remake) as Adonis Johnson, the son of deceased heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed.
With boxing in his blood, Adonis heads to Philadelphia, the site of Apollo Creed’s legendary match with a tough upstart named Rocky Balboa, to track down Rocky and ask him to be his trainer.
Agreeing to take him on, Rocky trains the young fighter, even as the former champ is battling an opponent more deadly than any he faced in the ring.
