No need to tell us to ‘quit playing games’, this is actually happening.
The Backstreet Boys are back (again) and they’re teaming up with members of their former rival boy band, NSYNC, for a zombie movie.
No need to tell us to ‘quit playing games’ because we are absolutely not sh#tting you. The boys (now men) from the 90’s are actually saying ‘bye, bye, bye’ to the living and entering the world of the undead.
Why you ask?
Because according to the Syfy original movie’s trailer, “to fight the undead you have to resurrect the 90’s boybands”.
The first trailer for the post-apocalyptic flick titled Dead 7 was released this week and features BSB’s Nick Carter in the lead. Joining him are his band mates, A.J. McLean and Howie Dorough along with NSYNC’s Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick – no sign of the group’s lead Justin Timberlake *sad face*.
The 90’s pop mania didn’t stop there, with Erik-Michael Estrada, Trevor Penick, Dan Miller, and Jacob Underwood from the group O-Town making an appearance in the one minute preview, as well as Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees.
Carter is believed to have produced the movie, which is set in the ‘wild west’.
In addition to their familiar and still ever-so-handsome faces, the movie also includes graphic fights scenes, stereotypical western props and some makeup inspiration from The Walking Dead.
The movie will be out on Syfy in the US on 1 April – it’s unclear whether it will be released in Australia on the same day.
