Get ready to mark your calendars, because we finally know when Marvel’s next Netflix project will be released.

It’s all thanks to lead actor, Mike Colter, who revealed the first season of Mavel’s Luke Cage will be out on 30 September 2016.

The announcement comes less than a week before Netflix and Marvel prepare to release the entire second season of Daredevil.

In an interview, Colter stressed that the Luke Cage series will feel like a completely new and individual entity, despite his character making his debut in sister-series, Jessica Jones.

“The show that we’re filming now, Marvel’s Luke Cage as opposed to Marvel’s Jessica Jones, is completely different.”

He continued, saying the character will travel uptown to do “his own thing”.

Fans can expect a short time lapse to separate his appearance in Jessica Jones without making it seem as though it never happened.

Luke Cage is the third of four solo hero shows between Netflix and Marvel. All four characters – Luke Cage, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist – will come together for a joint series called, The Defenders.
