How did a man with no design skills, no engineering degree and no building experience become an internationally recognised genius?
If there’s a list of ultimate geek heroes out there, there’s no doubt that the co-founder and face behind one of the world’s biggest technology brands is on there.
Steve Jobs, is a movie that not only sets out to remember the man behind Apple, but showcase his roots, commitment and vision that made him Fortune Magazine’s 2007 Most Powerful Person in Business and a future Disney Legend.
In a behind the scenes video, Jobs’ friend and the co-founder of Apple Computers, Steve Wozniak, described the forthcoming biopic as being about the person behind the public image and his dealings with people.
“[It’s about] what he kept inside himself or where he might have been coming from,” Wozniak explained.
“[The movie is] Steve Jobs before he started out and the fun times we had, the pranks we played and the laughter.”
Wozniak added that despite not having the experience to build the products himself, Jobs had the marketing skills to sell the computers and explain their unique position as being completely user-friendly.
The movie also touches on rumours of Jobs’ “negative personality characteristics”, which Wozniak believes shouldn’t taint the tech leader’s legacy.
“I think history has got to remember him as one of the great technical leaders of his time just like Edison,” he said.
“He led the world into the future and everyone else would follow when they saw it.”
Steve Jobs is out in Australia on 4 February 2016 and stars Michael Fassbender from X-Men as Steve Jobs as well as Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen and Jeff Daniels.
