It may be one of the fastest scenes, but apparently Quicksilver’s new running sequence was one the longest to film for X-Men Apocalypse.
Earlier this year, Evan Peters aka Quicksilver confirmed he’d be back fighting alongside other mutants in the forthcoming flick.
Speaking to media, he said the young speedster would bring the same quirky attitude as well as another epic running scene which he described as ‘bigger and better’ than his sprinting debut in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Fans were able to catch a glimpse of the new scene in the recently released X-Men Apocalypse trailer. It shows the silver-haired mutant running into a building decorated in wooden furnishings (looks a little like a boarding school).
The entire scene only runs for about three minutes, but according to director Bryan Singer, it took around a month to film.
What?! Yep, one month for three minutes.
Singer told Empire that Evan worked more days on the one sequence than any other because it was quite complex to film.
“It involves the most complex camera moves, very sophisticated explosive algorithms, 3D Phantom cameras travelling at 50mph while shooting at 3,100 frames per second.”
Sounds insane! But we can’t wait to watch it.
Meanwhile, the new trailer also saw the young Professor X debut his older version’s iconic shaved head and we got to see new mutants such as Olivia Munn as Psylocke in action.
