Fans have speculated that the two branches of the Marvel Cinematic Universe would connect in the new movie, with Thanos playing the common enemy.
And while it is likely Star Lord and his group of misfits may eventually find their way to Earth (I mean, Star Lord is searching for a way to return home), it may not be happening anytime soon.
Speaking to Movie Pilot, Guardians of the Galaxy Director, James Gunn, debunked crossover rumours, saying the Guardians have their ‘own galaxy to take care of’.
“We have our own Galaxy to save,” he said.
“Earth is Avengers’ province. Thinking that everything is going to come together in a perfect way is not necessarily the way it is going to happen.”
If that’s the case, then the next time we can expect to see Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket will be in 2017 when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits cinemas.
Do you think The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy should interconnect?
