Battlestar Galactica’s Katee Sackhoff is keen to join Scarlett Johansson and Elizabeth Olsen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but not as the superhero you’d expect.
While she may be the perfect contender to play Captain Marvel (especially considering her popularity amongst existing pop-culture fans), Sackhoff told Playboy that she’s keen on stepping into the role of the anti-heroine, Black Cat, in the new Spider-Man movie.
Although she already voiced the character in 2009’s Spider-Man: Edge of Time, the actress said she’d definitely say yes to reprising the role because she loves the character’s ‘multilayered’ personality (and we know she plays those well).
“Oh, 100 percent I’d do that! I love playing characters who are multilayered and multidimensional and have a darkness to them, which makes them more realistic and more fun to play.”
According to Sackhoff, she’s been in and out of meetings with Marvel Studios, however, so far nothing has been signed.
If she were to play Black Cat in the new Spider-Man flick, it would be the first time the character has made an appearance on the big screen.
Although it should be noted that Felicity Jones did portray Felicia Hardy (Black Cat out of disguise) in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. She was introduced as Harry Oborn’s assistance but she never put on the black suit.
