Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk & Black Widow may have met their match.

After more than 20 years, the dinosaur franchise has stomped back onto the big screen with a vengeance.

During its opening weekend, Jurassic World made a smashing US$204.6 million in the US – ahead of ‘The Avengers: The Age of Ultron’, which opened earlier this year.

It was the second strongest opening ever, falling short of Marvel’s 2012 ‘The Avengers’.

Globally, Jurassic World made US$511.8 million, which crossed the half-billion mark in record time and delivered Universal its biggest international weekend opening.

Lead actor, Chris Pratt took to Facebook to share his excitement, saying he was overwhelmed by the positive response and is ‘overcome with joy’.
